Farmers and Merchants Bank Receives Special Recognition
CADA Board Chair Ann Bailey presents honor awards to Steve Green and Kyle Clark of FM Bank and Bank Board Member Butch Corum at the October 30 CADA Board Meeting.
FM Bank provided the financing for our purchase and renovation of a blighted downtown apartment complex which CADA has recently rehabilitated and placed on the market. The Fremont Wilshire, at the corner of 14th and P Sts., alongside Fremont Park, now provides 12 units of affordable housing and twenty units of market rate housing. Paul Schmidt, Jackie Whitelam and CADA Board Member Bob Lagomarsino accepted the American Planning Association of California's statewide award for Distinguished Leadership by Public Agency at the APA Convention earlier this month. This award recognizes CADA's 31 years of innovation and leadership in the development of the Capitol Park Neighborhood.
12th & 13th Streets Water Transmission Main Project
This project will replace riveted steel water pipelines constructed in 1915. The City of Sacramento Utilities Project Manager, Bill Zehnder, is available at: (916) 808-5454 to answer questions about the project benefits and its possible impacts to local neighborhoods and businesses. Please refer to the fact sheet for further information as to why the City is replacing the water transmission main and where the new transmission main will be placed.

East End Gateway Site 4 (SE Corner of 16th & P Streets)
At its January 22, 2010 the CADA Board authorized staff to accept proposals for East End Gateway Site 4 on an on-going basis that meet the development criteria of the August 2008 Request for Proposals. Proposals received by July 23 will be presented at the August 27 Board meeting. If there are no proposals received by July 23, any proposals received by November 5 will be presented at the December 10 Board meeting. Proposals Received for 40' x 40' Lot
CADA is offering the 40’ x 40’ lot for sale at 1610 17th Street in Midtown Sacramento. The site is located on the west side of 17th Street between P and Q Streets and is vacant. CADA’s intent is to select a capable and qualified developer to purchase the lot and to develop a quality urban residential project. CADA has purchased the lot from the State and intends to sell it to the selected developer for $85,000. A copy of Development Opportunity is available at:
CADA received proposals from K. Alexis Corporation and Diepenbrock Projects, LLC for each to develop two attached single family homes. A presentation by both developers is scheduled for March 18, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the CADA Administrative Office at 1522 14th Street. At the presentation both Developer Teams including their architects and CADA staff will describe their respective proposed projects, answer questions and take comments and suggestions. The elevations, floor plans, and site plans will be presented and the proposed sales prices will be disclosed at the presentation. The CADA Board will review the proposals at its March 26 meeting and select a Developer at a subsequent Board meeting, taking into consideration stakeholder input received at the presentation and other presentations to the City and State of California.
